Last week, I gave a talk at a customer event hosted by Lillesands Sparebank. The topic was cryptocurrency – with a focus on investment, risk, and why banks sometimes need to ask where your money comes from.
Banks aren’t trying to be difficult, but they are legally required to follow regulations aimed at preventing money laundering and terrorist financing. This means they must collect information and documentation to confirm the source of funds – including when it involves cryptocurrency.
Crypto and investing can be incredibly exciting – but it also comes with high risk. That’s why it’s important to gain knowledge and make informed decisions, not just take chances. And the most important advice I always repeat:👉 Never invest more than you can afford to lose.
